Bacteria and viruses in your home

UNSTOPPABLE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST GERMS

How to kill germs and viruses in your home

Make Domestos your first line of defence against germs, bacteria, and viruses.

Cold & flu season

Arming yourself against infection is vital during cold and flu season. Effectively combating bacteria or a virus means understanding how it works, so you can stop it from spreading.

What are bacteria and viruses?

Both bacteria and a virus are microscopic organisms that exist within the millions. When it comes to bacteria, you get both good and bad – but the same cannot be said for a virus, whose sole purpose is to infect and spread.

How does it spread?

Every strain or type of virus and/or bacterium spread differently. The most common mode of transmission is through direct contact with both people and surfaces. At the rapid rate at which both can spread, there is a  strong possibility of either entering your home unnoticed. Be wary of sneezing, public transport, public restrooms, and the likes.

However, by arming yourself with the right disinfectants and germ-killing solutions, you can guard and protect your home.

How to kill bacteria and viruses

Hand washing

It is vital to keep your hands clean at all times. Regularly washing your hands with anti-bacterial liquid such as Radox Protect + Replenish Anti-Bacterial Hand Wash, means minimising transmission onto other surfaces as well as avoiding infection.

Clean surfaces

Handrails, door handles, phone cases, we touch multiple surfaces throughout the day – including the ones we come home to. As the ultimate germ-killing weapon, Domestos eliminates any nasties that threaten your home and stops spreading dead in its tracks.

Avoid direct contact with sick people

Choose to walk instead of taking the bus, public transport is a hot spot for bacteria and viruses. Cover your mouth if someone near you is sneezing and/or coughing. Be vigilant and aware of your surroundings. Germs are everywhere.

What kills bacteria and viruses on surfaces?

Unstoppable at fighting germs, bacteria, and viruses, Domestos contains sodium hypochlorite. When these agents come into contact with germs or stains, they cause oxidation, which kills germs.

How to prevent the spread of germs with Domestos Thick Bleach

Door Handles Any and all touchpoints should be wiped down with a diluted Domestos thick bleach solution. Simply add 60ml of Domestos Bleach to a bucket of water and use to clean areas of your home you have direct contact with. Or reach for a convenient multi-purpose disinfectant spray or wipe.

Hard Surfaces & Floors No surface should be left uncleaned in the fight to ensure the health and safety of your home. For diluted usage for the disinfection of floors and surfaces dilute 120ml of Domestos Bleach per 5 litres of water. Do not use neat on floors.

Bathroom: Sink & Toilet For neat usage on toilets apply Domestos Bleach under rim and leave it to act for 15 minutes. For extended germ-killing action, and to remove stains, leave the product to act overnight. With Domestos as your go-to weapon you will win at protecting your home from harmful bacterium and viruses.
