Most students in South Africa still attend school toilets with poor
hygiene, which ultimately has a negative effect on their education and
preparedness for the future. Every year we use World Toilet Day to create
sanitation awareness of this global crisis and gather support for our plans
to rectify the situation. To date we have renovated dirty toilets in 26
schools and impacted the lives of over 24 000 students. This year we
decided to do things a little differently to help South Africa understand
how bad the situation has become.
We challenge some of South Africa’s most influential individuals to use the
unsanitary toilets that many students are forced to use every day.
